This was my 3rd attempt in making siomai - Bobby's favorite food in the entire universe.
His favorite is Hen-lin's and I know mine is not even close, but still he's making me believe my version is on top of his list. I think it's sweet, but I really need to find a better recipe! I can't seem to make one that has that same texture and "Chinese-y" taste. So today, my fourth attempt. Same recipe, but I added Chinese herbs and flour (yes, flour!)... crossing my fingers. Will have this for dinner tomorrow.
By the way, here are the ingredients:
- Ground Pork, Shrimps, Water Chestnuts, Garlic, Green Onions, Shitake Mushrooms, Sesame Oil, Fish Sauce (aka Patis), Sugar, Eggs, Flour, 5-Spice, Wanton Wrapper
No fair! What about the intruction? :-) Have mercy on me! Walang siomai dito kahit sa mga chinese restaurants so you gotta post the step by step how-to!!

siomai, i love! we don't have it here in korea, too. and a friend also recommended panlasang pinoy... kaya lang until now i didn't try my hand in baking pandesal:-)
ReplyDeletepanlasang pinoy is the best, because they try to substitute the original ingredients with those that are available locally (in the US or elsewhere). i've also tried their crispy noodles, so good!
DeleteHahaha he's so cute! Hehehe. I heart Hen Lin, too! Winner ka for making this from scratch!!
